KG Ranch, owned by Paul & Kaye Doddridge and family, and managed by Greg Strohecker, held their 8th Annual Production Bull Sale on December 3, at the ranch outside of Three Forks, MT.
This was by far the best sets of bulls and females that this operation has ever offered up for auction. The cattle were ideally conditioned and uniform from start to finish.
Topping the sale was KG 5594 Traveler 3020, a January 21, 2003, son of RR 7012 Traveler 5594 out of a Vermilion Yellowstone bred dam. BW 68 weighing 1905 SC 41 BW+0 WW+35 M+21 YW+80. He sold for $5000 to Gartner-Denowh Angus Ranch, Sidney, MT.
The next two high-selling bulls both left the ring at $4750 each. One was KG Rainmaker 3086, a January 31, 2003, son of Sitz Rainmaker 6169 out of a Lukens Luke bred dam. BW 80 NR 112 YR 104 weighing 1815 SC 39 BW+2.6 WW+49 M+21 YW+78. He sold to Mulvey Gulch Ranch, Boulder, MT.
The other bull at $4750 was KG Rainmaker 3040, a January 25, 2003, son of Rainmaker 6169 out of an RLS Alliance bred dam. BW 74 NR 100 YR 100 weighing 1830 SC 36 BW+2.2 WW+41 M+17 YW+71. He sold to Belus Ranch, Clairemont, WY.
Belus Ranch also selected another top son of 6169 for $4500. He was KG Rainmaker 3066. BW 76 NR 109 YR 104 weighing 1775 SC 36 BW+2.2 WW+41 M+17 YW+71.
Two other top bulls both left the ring at $4250. One was a son of Bando 5175 and sold to T Bar Ranch, Cardwell, MT; and the other was a son of LCC Starship and sold to River Springs Ranch, Bly, OR.
The high-selling bred heifer of the sale was KG Enchantress 3063, a January 27, 2003, daughter of Sitz Rainmaker 6169 out of an RLS Alliance bred dam. BW+3.3 WW+44 M+21 YW+73 NR 108 YR 108 and bred to LCC Premonition. She sold for $3100 to Werz Ranch, Henrietta, TX.
The two high-selling drafts of commercial heifers both left the ring at $1500 each. One was a draft of 45 head selling to Steiner Valley Ranch, Whitney, TX; and the other was 44 head selling to T Bar Ranch, Cardwell, MT.
The remainder of the heifers mainly sold in the $1375 to $1425 range.
KG Ranch had the best bull sale that they have ever had. T Bar Ranch, Cardwell, MT, selected this top son of LCC Starship for $4250. T Bar selected several bulls, registered heifers and a load of commercial heifers at the KG Sale.
Werz Ranch, Henrietta, TX, selected the high-selling registered bred heifer at the KG sale for $3100.
